What to expect at the Beverly Hills visit
Bring the images. A written mammogram report without the pictures is not enough for a second look, and it is not enough to plan an operation. Gene-test results, prior biopsy slides if another pathologist read them, and the implant card all change the visit.
Dr. Funk reviews the finding, the risk, and whether the next step is more imaging, a biopsy, or a cancer operation. Dr. Takasumi is the pathologist when tissue needs a read inside the practice. If reconstruction is part of the same illness, Dr. Sayah examines you in the same sequence so the cancer operation and the reconstruction are one plan. Radiation, chemotherapy, and the health of the skin decide whether that reconstruction is immediate or delayed.
Women who already have implants are not a separate practice. Screening mammography, rupture surveillance, and questions about removal or BIA-ALCL are handled on the breast side of the file and written so the reconstructive plan can use them.
