From a symptom to a plan

Breast care at Wellamina runs from screening through surgery. A lump, pain, nipple discharge, skin change, or a mammogram that came back needing another look is evaluated here, not handed to a surgeon who meets you for the first time in a pre-op bay. High-risk questions belong in the same visit: a strong family history, a known gene mutation, prior biopsies, and dense breasts that make mammograms harder to read.

Dr. Kristi Funk is the breast cancer surgeon. She is double board-certified in surgery and in lifestyle medicine. The surgical range includes biopsy, management of benign disease, lumpectomy, mastectomy, and the decisions that follow a cancer diagnosis. Dr. Yuki Takasumi is the breast pathologist. A margin, a core biopsy, or a question of lymphoma around an implant is read by someone in the practice, not sent out and waited on.

Reconstruction is not a separate referral. Dr. David N. Sayah plans implant reconstruction, reconstruction with your own tissue, and fat grafting on the same timeline as the cancer operation. Women who already have implants are followed for both cancer screening and the implant itself. That surveillance is laid out under breast implant monitoring, including mammograms, MRI, the textured-implant recall, and BIA-ALCL.

Bring the images, not just the report, plus any gene-test result and the implant card if you have one. If the discs are at another facility, tell us before the visit so they can be requested.
